CHAPTER 4 The Reckoning Part of me was happy that my dad was coming home but part of me was scared that what he might be saying was true and people still must be after him. CHAPTER 3 THE COMEBACK I didn't know what to say anymore. I stare down at the table, circling my finger around a point on the table. My dad does the same. And then after an awkward silence he asks me about my school, career and health. Hoping this ends soon, I answer immediately without making a fuss but as coldly as I can. I had to prove a point that I might be obliged to answer to him but that doesn't mean I have to feel like I care if I tell him. Right? Not after what he did to us.
